Specialist ICT services provider ATIO has announced the acquisition of Netcampus Collaborative Learning Solutions. Chris Van der Sande, CEO of ATIO, says the deal enhances ATIO's position as an end to end solutions provider, by adding an international online campus, which provides collaborative learning solutions, to ATIO's fold. Established in 1997, Netcampus is a fully accredited international online provider of innovative technical training products & services from major international courseware vendors. Netcampus pioneered the innovative web-based "Virtual Classroom" model as far back as 2006, which introduced the best of Instructor Led Training and Distance Learning together for greater customer satisfaction, convenience and cost effectiveness.
In 2009, Netcampus was honoured as the 2009 Microsoft Worldwide, Innovative Partner of the Year. In terms of the deal, all the staff based in Cape Town (Somerset West) will continue to operate out of their current offices. A new sales force has been employed in Johannesburg and are operating out of ATIO's Head Office in Rivonia. "This will ensure service continuity for our customers and further grow the capacity and competency of our already strong team in ATIO," Van der Sande says. This acquisition is in line with ATIO's strategy over the past few years which has been to acquire niche companies thereby diversifying its service offerings and strengthening its position as a preferred ICT services provider.
